4th of July
We are excited to announce the return of our traditional 4th of July celebration, co-sponsored by the Montecito Community Foundation, featuring the "Biggest Little Parade" down San Ysidro Rd ending in a grand picnic in the park!
Your 4th of July Committee - spearheaded by board member, Mindy Denson - has been hard at work, making sure this is the best Village 4th celebration yet!
Start your 4th of July off at the Montecito Fire Department for their annual pancake breakfast! They will be serving pancakes from 7am to 11am.
After eating your pancakes, get your bikes, scooters or vehicles ready for the parade...or scout out a spot to watch the parade along San Ysidro Rd. (between Upper Manning Park and Montecito Union School)
The parade kicks off at 11:30 AM and will include walkers, riders, animals, and vehicles, all decked out in festive 4th of July decorations. The parade ends at Lower Manning Park where participants and spectators will gather for an afternoon filled with food, live music, pie-eating contests, games, and more!
PSA for Parade Watchers!
We LOVE your patriotic enthisiasm, but unless you have x-ray vision, setting up your chairs on Coast Village Rd won't get you a glimpse of this year's 4th of July Parade.
We're BACK to the classic route (see below) - the beloved block-and-a-half stroll from Hosmer Lane to Lower Manning Park! This short (but mighty!) route lets our school kids, Scouts, and decorate pups take center stage - just as it was when the parade first began nearly 30 years ago.
So grab your spot on San Ysidro Rd, between Hosmer Lane and Santa Rosa Ln - because that's where the red, white and adorable will be marching!
